"Relics of Icarus" (1985/86) – two feet cast in lead, held by hemp ropes, suspended from a simple wooden pole. Nothing remains of the flight but the trace of gravity. Icarus's dream, once carried by sun and freedom, sinks here into the earthly weight of metal. The pole – a wing without lift, a fragment without sky. What remains is the echo of a fall: humanity bound to gravity, trapped in the paradox between longing and doom.
